With Basildon coming down, they probably comes as division favourites. Ironically they produced stronger teams when they were in div 2 two seasons ago than they did last year in the first division which is a reason why they are back here. If Ilford produce the same sort of team as they did last season then they would probably struggle to stay up. Thurrock can spoil the party as they did last season with a draw and Southend have certainly gained strength in more recent times. Roding & Loughton tend to lack a little fire power on the bottom but with last year’s new recruit David Faulkner on top board, they could also take away valuable points.

Therefore I think 2nd place again is a reasonable bet as we tend to have what is sometimes politely known as the Brentwood cock-up in a couple of matches.
